Cults at the Fringe

Discussion

I was just at the Fringe, trying my hand at busking for the first time. I didn't want to be too close to other musicians because I hate the sound of clashing music. But the free corners I was looking at (near MEAT) were populated by Falun Dafa recruiters. In fact, walking around looking for spots I saw a ton of them milling about. For those who don't know, they're essentially a cult of personality that fled China. They do group weddings in the hundreds and are excellent dancers (If you've gone to see Shen Yun, you've unknowingly funded a cult, same as I have.) I thought we were finally gaining ground over the "Believe on Jesus" guy. I know there's legally nothing anyone can do, because Falun Dafa are far more behaved than he is. It's just.... frustrating. I think I speak for most people when I say that I don't want to be accosted with religion during festivals.
