Husband has had me believing for years it’s normal to finish in my face every time

I (34F) was pretty inexperienced before meeting my husband (41M). From early on in our relationship, he finishes in my face every time we are intimate. I thought this was normal but my friend was shocked. Is this really that abnormal or freaky? Does it mean he’s been using me?
