Managing time vs academic progress

Hey all. Some background: I (42m) am married for almost 20 years with two kids (10f and 12m), I have a full time job in tech (self-taught in software engineering in big tech) and I re-committed myself to getting my two year associates in science (physics+math focus).

I now have 25 credits and a 4.0 GPA. But, I’ll be honest, after one year and doing summer quarter twice, I had hoped to be further along. I have been taking just one five credit class per quarter. As I have just finished my second summer quarter, I find myself wondering why I’m not taking two classes at once. I often take classes in person, but also found success with an online math course over this last summer quarter.

I would like to see what you all think about it. Do you think it would be a wise step to take two classes at once? Have you done what I am doing now? How did it go for you?

Anyways, it’s crazy out there. I hope you’re well. Let me know what you think.
