Heard weird sounds in Little Cottonwood canyon the other day. Did anyone else? I have recordings

Hey all, I know this might be a bit of a weirder post but I want to know if anyone else heard this last Saturday? (Aug 24th)

My gf and I were on a small hike (Grit Mill) in Little Cottonwood canyon on Saturday from around 7-8:30pm. Starting around 7:30(?) / about half an hour in on the hike, we started hearing weird screeching noises that we couldn't place.

It didn't sound natural, so we thought it was the echoes of people's brakes squealing, or people peeling out of parking lots, but it kept happening even during moments where no cars were passing on the road. We then figured it might be someone with a rocket powered RC car or something, or people doing donuts.

We stopped about halfway along and we could see the park n ride parking lot from where we were. We saw some people out of their cars down there, and some of the parking lot was obscured by trees, so we thought maybe they were the potential RC car or doing-donuts people.

Well, sound was carrying really far apparently, because even though they were like 300 yards away (best guess), we overheard bits of their conversation with a UTA driver who'd gotten out of their car to talk to these other people, and they were all speculating where the sounds were coming from too---and someone mentioned that it might be coming from "up there with those guys" (us, standing visibly on the hillside).

So, wasn't them. Haha. And definitely wasn't us.

Anyways, and probably most importantly, I recorded a few minutes of these sounds. I am a field recordist and take at least 1 mic with me wherever I go and had one in my backpack, and was already trying to capture some of the wind but the noise from the road made this difficult.

I made a video trying to go through and analyze the recording I got but the more I look into it, the more confused I get, haha.

I'll post the video in the comments if anyone wants to hear. This is not a hoax, I did not tamper with the audio, and I'm not trying to promote my YouTube channel (I post occasional videos just for fun that are not related to this kind of thing.)
