[encouragement] you're gonna make it

For background:

  • I have written software professionally since 2008.
  • I have mostly worked in big tech.
  • I have for the last 10 years been mostly a systems/db/distributed systems developer
  • I have also been a SRE

Here's what I am seeing now:

  • This job market is hard.
  • Your job is probably harder now due to $REASONS
  • You don't really have an easy out (unless you do), so you're gonna have to stay the course for the foreseeable future.

Here's what I want to communicate to everyone here:

Its going to be OK. If you need to get a different job to put food on the table, then do it. At the end of the day, you work to provide for yourself and the ones you love. Put a smile on your face for them, or because you want to be a good friend. Its going to be OK. Go outside and get some sunshine. Pet a dog (or cat, if you're into getting scratched up). Most of all, don't lose your shit. Stay the course.

From one person who doesn't know you, I hope you're doing alright.
