Questions about Wargame:AB

I played Ruse and felt that it was a solid RTS hamstrung by Ubisofts horrific mismanagement. I didn't play Wargame: EE because I didn't know it existed until I heard about this game. This game looks like an interesting evolution of Ruse. Unfortunately, there is very little coverage on the game. Thus, I have some questions about the game.

First question, is the matchmaking split by Steam region like it was in Ruse? That ended up making it impossible to get a game in Ruse and killed the game incredibly quickly. Do I just get matched up globally by default? For those of you who played Wargame:EE how long did it take to get a match six months after the game got released?

I noticed the pacing and control style seem similar. Are there any major changes besides the removal of ruses?

This game seems to have a deck system too. How many hours of unlocking am I looking at before I can build a competitive quality deck?

What features make this an interesting RTS for you, especially in comparison to Ruse? Is there anything you don't like about this game?

Could you give me a quick summary as to why I should buy this game in 2-3 sentences?

Not regional locked, I'm usa pacific and play with germans.

No unlocking, I think they ditched that system.

This is the best game I have played in years, best balance of realism and fun I've encountered. If you like epic battles and armchair generalling. Buy. This.

Thanks for the info, that's good to know.

At the same time it's not for every RTS player. The pace is extremely slow until battle start, then micro-management can get really tough because engagements tend to be large.

I find it extremely challenging. I keep getting my ass handed to me even by AI because I just don't think tactically I guess.

Its nothing like starcraft, apm matters very little . Choosing and using the right units at the right time in the right way is crucial. It is more tactical and sim like than most rts games, but it is far from a simulator.

Like massive amounts of cluster bombs do no damage to infantry, but they level a forest.

Cluster bombs are anti armor, use bombs with a HE rating.

They way I think of it is it takes the best of Men at Arms and best of Ruse and makes it even better, in a cool and niche setting.

The best thing to do is watch videos. It's truly an incredible game with such great emphasis on strategy and making best use of your army. There really isn't anything like it.

I liked ruse. Wargame takes away the structure building and replaces it with hundred of vehicles and variants. The only resource is command points, which you just a command vehicle on a sector of control. The more you have, the more they add up.

I Like that you can switch off the weapons easily just by a click and save them for a larger target, Or switch of the Automatic cannon on planes now and use napalm to burn woods so enemy inf cant hide.

Switch cannon on planes? How to do it? I see only on/off switch.

You click on the weapons on the bottom of the screen
