Why don't we have good leaders?

I never understood why people keep voting Doug Ford in, time and again. His policies do not reflect the province's need (eg. beer in convenience stores, no bike lanes, not much investment in public transit) and he's corrupt as hell. Liberals are totally useless, both federally and provincially so no one's voting for them either. So, as a province, are we fucked?
