What are my options with extra £145K

Hi all,

Can someone advise me how I should look to maximise returns/savings/be more tax efficient?

  • £145,000 savings in a 2.47% Savings Account (Taxable interest)
  • £21,009.57 in a Stock and Savings ISA (£20K initially invested) from Tax Year 2023/2024. Currently invested in ETFs.
  • £20,000.00 in a Stock and Savings ISA that was transferred from an old provider. Currently, no investments - just the “Cash” ready to invest
  • £50,000 in NS&I Premium Bonds. So far, I’ve won £725 in prizes since May 2024 (when I first opened the account)
  • £19,487 in Pension 1 (from old job)
  • £46,000 in Pension 2 (from current job/pension)
  • Have a mortgage on a flat; current value of flat is around £330,000 with outstanding mortgage balance of £275,700

I have no debts apart from my mortgage.

I spend an average of £2300 a month on living expenses/food/entertainment/subscriptions etc

I save an average of £2,000 per month, which always goes into my savings account, since I’ve maxed out my ISA allowance for this tax year.

I have 3 potential big spends coming up soon:

  • Purchase of a used car for a maximum budget of £14,000
  • Large potential of medium holiday spend of around £2K
  • Medium potential of large holiday spend of £3K to £4K in 2025
