Best way to optimize for a yearly trip from out of state?

Planning

Tried a search through the sub but couldn't really find an answer. We're a family of 4 (2 kids under 6) from out of state who have gone to the parks at least once a year for the past 4 years and feel pretty confident about keeping up that frequency going forward.

For a trip that seems 'consistent' I've been looking at ways to optimize for this if possible. We don't go enough days for the out of state annual pass to make sense really, at least right now. Then I started poking around at DVC, even though typically we stay at the value resorts. Maybe there isn't really a point other than just accounting for the trip in our annual budget but figured I'd ask if anyone else was in a similar situation and had other ideas/thoughts. Thanks!
