Beware of Telegram’s @VerificationCodes

I wanted to raise awareness about potential security risks on Telegram, specifically regarding certain bots that are becoming increasingly concerning. One such bot is @VerificationCodes.

While it may appear legitimate—even seeming as though it’s associated with Telegram itself—users should be extremely cautious. These types of bots can often impersonate official verification systems, which can lead to serious issues like unauthorized access to your account.

Furthermore, I’m surprised that Telegram allows @OTPBot to appear in its search results. From my perspective, this bot has all the hallmarks of a scam, especially when considering how OTP (One-Time Password) bots are often linked to phishing schemes or attempts to compromise two-factor authentication.

It’s alarming that these bots are so easily accessible, as they can easily exploit users who are unfamiliar with their true purpose. I’d recommend double-checking any bot claiming to be a verification or OTP service and reporting anything suspicious.
