How to deal with ignorant associate

I'm currently in trial with a partner and new associate (new to the firm and youngish). I've been at the firm 17 years and love where I work and have hot-seated that same number of trials. I'm the senior paralegal and am relied on heavily not only for my skills in trial but for my legal accumen and understanding of law. The partner in this case regularly seeks my counsel and input and I believe he does value my opinion. The associate will cut me off or dismiss my comments. He clearly sees me as a secretary in a suit. I'm not used to this at all, I've always been treated as a valued and equal member of every trial team.

I was dismissed so much during the first week of trial that I just stopped offering my opinion. The partner keeps pushing for me to participate and I'm avoiding it. How would you handle this?
