Suggestion/Advice for New Cafe
Hi Guys, Please advise if this is not right place to post:
Me and my partner are looking to start a cafe. We both came from hospitality. I have about 9 years of running the kitchen as Senior Chef and She has 6 years experience as Barista. We have about 70K on savings and both currently hold full time jobs. We don’t own any property.
Can we get business loan?
We are confident FOH and BOH operations and staffing wise.
Now, since we have never owned a cafe or any business, we have a lot of questions on mind.
So, we went to see 1 cafe in Canberra( about 40 people sitting), good size with dedicated prep areas and fridge and lots of storage plus dedicated office space. This looks very spacious and something we can utilise further. Also, this is nested around lots of office building. There are other cafes nearby but Looks like there is good amount of foot traffic
Current seller is asking $150000+. Rent is 11500. Current revenue is said to be about 4000-5000/week.
Do you guys think this will be doable? I know there will be cost like electricity, gas and supplier and stuff. I am not aware of how much roughly it would cost for other things like insurance and other any compliance stuff. Any suggestion or pointing towards right direction would be great help.
I was even looking at business advisory services. Thought I would ask here first.
Thank you so much
