Musings: Why did people buy the XJ L variants?
Just a random thought, so I thought I’d ask the community here.
If I’m buying a long wheelbase XJ…I’m wanting a Daimler/Vanden Plas version. Picnic tables and everything.
If I don’t want the Daimler/VDP, I’m aiming squarely at the XJR in SWB format simply for the added driving dynamics.
And naturally, I appreciate, the standard car, regardless of generation, was the more affordable option.
So why would customers specify the more expensive LWB without going for more of the juicier variants?
I’m not judging, just wondering.
