Act I

Scene I

A tavern in distant Gustavi, a sign of a sleeping dog can be seen flowing in the wind outside. A river rushes through its middle. In the distance, an alley with the symbol of a dragon as a street sign can be seen, with two buildings in scaffolding next to it.

Nagumahagu, a strongly-built Goliath warrior, is drinking at the bar. His conversation partner looks angry.

Mondán:

Nagumahagu, you're lying!

Nagumahagu:

[Continues to drink his ale]

No, I am not!

Mondán:

Well then, swear that it is true!

Nagumahagu:

Swear? Why should I?

Mondán:

See, you dare not. It's a lie from first to last!

Nagumahagu:

[Puts aside his drink]

It is true-each blessed word!

Mondán:

[Crossed her arms, waiting for an explanation]

Nagumahagu:

Look, you are all sick with the thick air that suffuses this valley. Us Goliath are used to the thin air of the mountains, and therefore we don't speak the nonsense you do. I will not swear that I speak the truth to air-sick fools like yourself. If you wish to seek what the bone-man was looking for in Gustavi, leave me to my construction work!

Mondán:

Your wisdom is great, Nagumahagu. How can we ever repay you?

Nagumahagu:

[He smiles as he explains his plan to Mondán. The audience can't hear it because of the sounds of the other patrons]

Scene II

We can see the heroes and Mondán leave Gustavi towards the South. Some of them still have some pastry-crumbs in their clothing. Beaullissimo is catching up with the party, seemingly having left last.

Beaullissimo:

A leetle bird told me zat zere are smugglers inside ze church we're 'eaded towards.

Other heroes:

Interesting. We'll make sure to prepare accordingly.

[The heroes walk towards a ruined building at the other side of the stage, their every step displaying all kinds of preparations for a siege]

Marianna: We're here!

Other heroes: This is it? It doesn't look like a church at all!

Monkey: Look! Is symbol of Monkey! Was also at map in tavern!

[The party gathers in front of the strange symbol]
