Maths EE topic

ToK/EE

Hi, I'm currently a DP1 student and I'm struggling with the choice of the topic for my Extended Essay in mathematics. I had some unstructured ideas in my mind but the choice really stresses me out as I want to do my best to score A. I've been thinking about exploring Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle used in quantum mechanics in terms of Fourier Transform. Another idea I had Was about connecting Riemann Zeta function with distribution of prime numbers. Both topics require fluency in advanced calculus and are rather sophisticated.

When I came up with those ideas to my supervisor, she said that the topic does not really need to be that much sophisticated. She mentioned that as there are 12 marks for critical thinking, many high-scoring essays are based on comparison of different methods for doing sth. She asked me to refine my topics and think about it. She also told me to take into account the fact that I have only 4000 word limit which could turn out to be not enough for explaining such complex topics.

I started thinking about the topics again and I came up with another idea which is to compare different methods for root-finding in polynomials. Such comparison would include efficiency of the algorithm. Another idea I started to think about was exploring properties of Pascal's triangle in higher dimensions.

Now I really don't know how should I approach the choice of topic. I have many ideas in my head, but these are unstructured. I really do care about the grade I'll get and I want to have the greatest possible chances for scoring an A. What would you guys do? Do u have any advices on refining any of the topics? Maybe some ideas or advices?
