Hi, I'm currently a DP1 student and I'm struggling with the choice of the topic for my Extended Essay in mathematics. I had some unstructured ideas in my mind but the choice really stresses me out as I want to do my best to score A. I've been thinking about exploring Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle used in quantum mechanics in terms of Fourier Transform. Another idea I had Was about connecting Riemann Zeta function with distribution of prime numbers. Both topics require fluency in advanced calculus and are rather sophisticated.

I’m going to become a doctor in my future, so I want to take HL chemistry and biology. I’m wondering if my 3rd HL should be mathematics AA. Do you guys think this manageable? I’m really good at maths and chemistry. Bio isn’t difficult for me.

Another option(but I would rather choose 1st) is to take psychology as HL instead of maths. But there’s ONE LITTLE PROBLEM… the teacher makes people traumatized🥲
