Mom w/ COPD caught Covid first time, feeling nervous

Need support!

My mom has COPD and is on supplemental oxygen due to decreased lung function. She's avoided COVID for this long because she doesn't leave her house, and has been lucky when my siblings have had COVID around her in the past but this time she hasn't been so lucky and tested positive this morning. Symptoms include chills, weakness in body, congestion, loss of smell/taste, etc.

Unfortunately, due to one of her medications, she can't take Paxlovid. They are having her do a Remdesivir transfusion this week.

I've read good things about Remdesivir but I'm terrified. I feel like I can't breathe thinking about her having Covid. When she gets pneumonia, she is hospitalized every time. I don't know. I wish I was just being paranoid, but the reality is that I'm not. Covid kills often. :(
