Employer is only giving me $700 for my last 3 checks
Im going to apologize in advance for if this if its a bit confusing.
So i just put in my two weeks earlier this week and hr is sending me all the info i need for my departure and they emailed me saying they are basically only paying me 700 for my last check because of my pay being "annualized" saying "As of of 3/3 you will have worked 109 days earning $15,868.65. As of 2/10 you have been paid $15,147.00. The remaining amount owed is $721.65."
* **Start Date: 9/3/2024**
* **End Date: 3/3/2025**
* **Total Days Worked: 109**
* **Daily Rate: $ $33,048.00 (annual salary) / 220 working days = $145.58 per day**
- Total Compensation owed for 24/25: 109 days x $145.58 = $15,868.65
- 2/10 Final Check Calculation: $15,868.65 – $15,147.00 (Paid to date from Sept Through Feb checks) = $721.65 gross final paycheck
On our pay system it shows i have 4 weeks that still havent been payed so to me it looks like they will only pay me for basically one week and those other three weeks in the system im not being payed for. I asked about this saying it didnt really make sense to me and they responded, "As a district employee you are annualized. We take your salary and divide evenly by the number of checks you will receive for the entire year."
Does this make sense to anyone for me if just looks like im being shorted pay, also id like to add when i first started they held one check so id assume when i left id get a extra check after my last one. Please let me know im likely going to speak with them tommorow and if it dosent seem fair to me im likley going to quit on the spot.
