Food?
I have autoimmune diseases and the only way I can keep flares away is with my diet. I eat a strict autoimmune friendly diet and employ fasting as well to control inflammation. On top of that I have PCOS and reactive hypoglycemia which I need to limit my sugar and carb intake and focus on protein and fat content to manage. I’ve explained to my parents over and over before over the years. I feel amazing and almost completely healthy and normal when I eat this way.
Yet every single time my N mother is around me she pushes food so hard. Pushing me and guilting me into eating things I can’t eat that will cause me to flare up. They stayed over at my house for like a week and every single morning my mother would be up at the crack of dawn loudly making her and my dad breakfast. Then when I would wake up later and come out every single morning my mother had a full breakfast out for me that I couldn’t/didn’t want to eat due to it being full of bread and dairy or sugar or I was fasting that day.
Then her and my E dad would guilt me over the wasted food and effort of my mom. Then they’d start telling me how it’s not good to fast, how I need to eat these foods or i’m not going to be healthy. BITCH I get so inflamed if I eat the food you eat that I feel like I have the flu. It’s my own body my own stomach my own health and honestly I only have autoimmune disease because of the pervasive stress from childhood that still haunts me now.
I mean if after 5 straight mornings of me saying “ I don’t want breakfast please don’t make me breakfast I can’t and won’t eat those foods”, she STILL insists on making the damned breakfast that’s her problem. But like, why are they doing this? What’s this about, control? It doesn’t stop at breakfast either, it happens with lunch and snacks and dinner. But breakfast is the worst because I’m still asleep so im not there to prevent her from cooking the full meal. And then they talk about me loudly while I can hear saying things like “I cooked her this good breakfast and she won’t eat it, she’s ungrateful. Look, wasting all this food! She’s not nice”
