What is the best travel credit card to have?

Help Needed / Question

Hey all, I'm sure this question has been asked very often here. But I am very indecisive when it comes to picking out a card. I cannot seem to factor in everything or maybe there are things I am missing out on. So I've finally come here for some advice.

I am a 1 Card type of guy, I do not really like mixing, matching, or whatever else you want to call it. So I suppose I am looking for the best "all-rounded" card. Currently, we have the Amex Platinum, fly AA pretty often because it seems like they have the most "affordable" flights when it comes to US destinations, and then again we do all of our usual spending on the card as well. I guess the main question that I have is if there is a better card, in terms of earning "miles" or "points" or "status" out there and if there's anything that maybe can provide "more value" than the current card we have. I am totally fine with keeping the card but as the AF is right around the corner I am interested in hearing what other people recommend as alternatives, or if I should just keep the card.
