Nontraditional background — advice on applying to Tepper MBA

Hey everyone,

I’m currently exploring MBA programs as I’m looking to make a career transition. My background is in environmental studies, and I’ve spent the past 5 years working in fieldwork and environmental planning. While my undergraduate degree is in the humanities, I’m now preparing to take the GRE/GMAT (shooting for the highest grade possible) and am wondering how nontraditional or non-quant applicants are typically viewed by admissions committees. I’ve had a fairly successful career in the environmental world, but am ready to make a switch.

I’ve reached out to admissions and asked to set up an on-site meeting to learn more about the programs and how to put together a strong application. I’d love to know if anyone here has a similar background or has made a pivot like this—what helped your application stand out?

Thanks in advance for any insights or advice!
