Cat won't stop meowing!

My 9 year old female cat has always been talkative. I adopted her when she was around 3. But ever since I started working the overnight shift she will not stop constantly meowing, even if I'm right next to her. She seems uninterested in play most times. Her meows are more of a startup sound a couple times before a crying meow. Is there any medication or something I can buy for her? It's affecting my family.
