AITAH if I go on holiday whilst being behind on my rent?

Hi all,

For context last year I was in a much better place financially and in the august me and a friend booked a trip. 20 days long to thailand, this trip was paid for over the following few months and we paid it off in December.

Fast forward to March, I lost my job and I’m struggling a bit financially. I’ve since got a new job but just waiting to get paid from the new job etc However due to losing my job I’m 2 weeks behind on my rent, I have spoken with my landlord and he’s understanding and we have an agreement in place.

However, my father is adamant that I am “stupid” and “living in the clouds” if I choose to go on this trip. The trip is all inclusive and I explained I won’t need to take a great deal of funds. But he keeps insisting I should just cut my losses and see it as a stupid decision.

I’m due to go on it next month,

Any thoughts?
