street fighter 6: 2 BRAND new players (what to focus on, what control format, and any general tips)

2D Fighting Games

What's up everyone, me (20) and my close friend (21) Have recently downloaded street fighter 6 for our first fighting game ever. We have never touched a 2d fighting game before and have literally no experience. We had trouble getting used to the controls for classic so we both decided to go with modern for an easier approach and understanding move sets. I am playing ken and my friend is playing m bison. So we have a few questions...

  1. What would be the best things to focus on very early on?
  2. Should we stick to the modern controls for an easier time or should we start on classic
  3. If classic is the move, what would be the best way to practice out inputs?
  4. What is the best way to learn about the game? YouTube? Just playing? Combo training?

And any general advice would be very much appreciated. Thank you everyone!
