Bristol or Manchester

Hey guys, International student here. Which among these two universities is considered more prestigious locally for Engineering and Mathematics?

I have offers from both universities however I have heard the city of Manchester is not as safe as Bristol…..though the universities are almost equally prestigious. Is this true?
