We just helped ship a production mobile app in under 5 days | We are building the best mobile app platform and cannot keep calm

I am the founder of magically and our mission since launch a month ago has been to allow non-technical entrepreneurs build, deploy and manage their mobile apps using magically. No demo apps, no prototypes, real world production apps that will be monetizable.

While the promise was simple, the path of realising it, not so much. We launched and very quickly realised that we had expedited our path to failure. What that means in simple terms was the product was good enough to get a non-technical user from 0 to 80% within a day and then they would get stuck.

The issues:

  1. Constant errors
  2. Constantly changing designs due to AI hallucination
  3. AI double guessing issues due to no visibility into the backend deployment

For a non-technical user, this meant a lot of moments where they would simply panic and reach out for help. So the first few apps deployed using magically required us to step and guide the user on how to proceed.

We spent a lot of days trying to solve the problem and came up with different architectures to help solve the issues to a point we started seeing 99%+ reliability in complex changes and 70% reduction in user frustration.

And last night, it finally happened. A user messaged out of the blue asking for help. As usual, we thought the user was stuck with an issue.

Here's the actual excerpt from the conversation.

User: "I fight with the publishing of my app 😄 I will come back to you. I need to find out how api on stripe works and how to get it into the AppStore of apple. I got my license as developer and so on."

Us: "That’s actually amazing. We have dedicated support for app publishing right now. For Stripe API, i will give you a few prompts. A lot of users have already added it."

User: "Stripe is working already with the sandbox api and my app also. Last step will be to get it to the Apple Store. There I need some time next week getting it done. If this succeed many other apps will follow but the first one is always the hard one until you know how to do everything."

What we hadn't realised at this point was that the user's app was already complete. We got on a call and were completely blow away with what we saw (Can't tell the idea/product they were working on). They actually just needed help with app publishing.

A non-technical user from Germany, with zero coding knowledge but domain expertise had finished their entire app from 0 to 100, with Authentication, apis, admin dashboard, RLS, Stripe integration in 5 days with absolutely 0 intervention from us.

Honestly, we did know we have the most complete product in the market, but thought this moment may come 2-3 months down the line.

We are also launching our showcase now that we have so many apps completed end-to-end with magically. Honestly, we are pumped to see what our users build next.
