is 10mm lock wire enough?

Marin Gravel/Touring bike.

My bike has quick release wheels and I don’t want them being tampered with or stolen while I’m away from the bike. I have a gold rated D-lock for the frame and am looking to get a cable as well to loop around the wheels and into the lock to keep all parts secure.

Will a 10mm cable be enough or are these easily cut? Is it likely anyone would even try cut it for some wheels?

Any other advice or locks you would recommend for this type of bike? I’ve seen too many bike frames stripped of their parts and abandoned on a post.
