What to look for when going for beard laser

Hello, I want to start getting my beard layered soon and I'm wondering if there's anything to look out for when choosing a studio, like types of lasers to look for etc. When I do eventually go would it be a good idea to get a professional shave by a barber beforehand instead of doing it myself due to problems I explain below?

My situation is that I can't shave daily because my skin is too sensitive but even when shaving with a blade as close to the skin as I can you can still see the cut off hairs clearly and I have very noticeable beard shadow. Plus no matter how careful I am I always manage to cut myself somewhere and because of my blood clotting disorder it bleeds for a pretty long time. As I don't have that much money yet and a pretty low pain tolerance I think laser might be my best option to at least reduce my beard, the amount of times I need to shave and my beard shadow for now.
