Any tried and true methods of helping anxiety while waiting for meds to kick in?

Advice Needed

I’m on my second “round” of meds because the first ones didn’t work (made it worse actually), and so I’ve been having extreme anxiety for months now trying to get my meds figured out. I know meds are what would help me most, but unfortunately I’m stuck in the waiting period since you have to give it 3-6 weeks to see if it will work for you. However, so far nothing has. So my anxiety is probably the worst it’s ever been right now. But I’m already seeing a doctor about it, on medication, and in therapy, but none of that is truly helping the daily overthinking, racing heart, and exhaustion.

Are there any tips you all recommend to manage your anxiety if you are not on or can’t be on meds, while I’m waiting for mine to start working? I feel like nothing my therapist recommends works as she doesn’t actually have anxiety. I’ve been (probably unhealthily) using marijuana when it’s extreme (not to get high, just to take the edge off), but even that doesn’t work, and I don’t want it to become a crutch anyway. What else can I do?
