Does any other founders feel like they are an impostor, a builder and a procrastinator, sometimes all at once?
Launched my product on Product Hunt today and for the first time in forever, I actually exhaled.
Been building this startup alone for 4 months. Every day felt like I was one mistake away from everything falling apart. Everyday a struggle of second guessing.
I stopped making plans. Stopped dating. Stopped calling friends back because "what if they ask how it's going and I have to admit it's not working?"
Today, watching people actually use what I built... I remembered why I started. Power users actually getting enough value to pay me $200/month without breaking a sweat and spending hours using what I built. Complaining when things don't work and driving the product forward.
I didn't do it because I wanted to be a "founder" or make money. Because 10 years ago, I got scammed by an agency and felt so powerless. So stupid.
I built this so other people wouldn't feel that way.
Seeing the first few people say "this actually works" made me cry. Happy tears, for once. And now its. a roller coaster of emotions every single day.
I'm still scared. Still don't know what I'm doing. But for the first time in 4 months, I feel like maybe I'm not completely insane.
Sometimes you don't realize how much weight you're carrying until you finally put it down.
