Calling it now--Friendship will be considered a classic.

Discussion

This movie has not left my mind since I left rhe theater a couple of weeks back. It has real emotional impact and I think it will age like Elf or Idiocracy.

Tom Robinson successfully blended dark, serious drama with ridiculous abstract humor. It was everything I love about Charlie Kaufman and Yorgos Lanthimos, but with actual laugh out loud comedic beats. The middling reviews I read generally recognized the great drama and brilliant comedy, but struggled with the blending of these two elements. I think this will grow as a genre (hopefully the start of a long film career for Tim Robinson) and Friendship will be recognized as a cornerstone.
