Post Lay Off Stress - 24 Hours Later

recently laid off

A bunch of us were laid off because certain teams revenue was slow and not enough work to do. Out of our control because we weren't allowed to help with getting new clients.

When they announced to everyone they were laying off including me that we were going to be laid off, I was sad and disappointed but not surprised. I wasn't shocked either and just took the rest of the day off, ran errands and was lazy overall.

Yet, here we are 24 hours later and I was more stressed than yesterday:

- Had roof leak few weeks ago that's been repaired but landlord trying to schedule ceiling painting for where the leak is, want us to move furniture etc. It's big furniture I can't move really and I don't have the time to deal with this. It's been hours and landlord has never gotten back to me about "when" or answered any questions i left on the voicemail.

- Had to apply for unemployment and it asked questions about things I don't have the answers to so i had to wait hours for HR to get back to me so i can submit the application. UPDATE: It's been submitted.

- I just started grade school 2 weeks ago and I have homework due in 2 days and on Sunday.

- I'll be getting a small severance and my last paycheck within the next few days to a week, because I don't have any real savings, I'll have do gig apps in the interim and somehow balance it with my school work.

- In between gig app work and graduate program homework I have to update my resume and look for jobs.

I'm so stressed right now because I'm trying to get everything done so my finances aren't interrupted, trying to keep my school work going (it's not hard homework its just a lot of reading in order to do the homework), prepare for painters to fix the ceiling, apply for jobs and also still earn some income with gig apps.

I guess this was mostly a rant but has anyone gone through a lot things happening post layoff and how did you keep level headed and minimize stress?
