Sometimes I feel like it isnt. Here's why:

Im a responsible person that makes good choices and im kind to others.

Friends on the other hand and acquaintances I met always have some sort of problem that they like to vent about but not ever solve.

Hearing about other people's problems makes me worry for them and it gets stressful. I also hate it when they drag me into it their problems when they know im busy dealing with things in my own life that are just as important.

Its not that I dont care but for example if ive already told someone I need go study for an exam to get into grad school dont call me to keep you company cause youre bored at work.

Its things like that.

Ill try to keep this short.

I met this person online months ago. Wasnt looking for anything but im always up for online friends. They were too.

We chatted all the time (almost daily) and they admitted to becoming interested. Internally I did like talking to them and if they were local then maybe things would he different but im not about long distance and I just dont want anyone. Plus they have major baggage, no fault of their own but I also dont want to be a part of it. Im already dealing with my own baggage as it is. But I did tell them I didnt want to go in thet direction.

i liked talking to them and I should have cut things off there but I didnt so we kept talking because I thiught

Long story short i was laid off and although its scary to be unemployed and now on im stressed. It didnt shock me as much as I thought it would.

I applied to a few jobs right awat and was asked to interview for a job I applied to the day before.

Its a much smaller company and the job pays way less but the company has good ratings from former employees.

Even though it pays way less it could just be a stepping stone and pays more than unemployment. So if im selected ill work the job byt keep applying elsewhere since the pay doesnt cover all of my bills.

Had the interview already and I did ok. Neither good nor bad but for whatever reason afterwards I felt sad. I also felt pathetic. In

Im doing UE again to supplement my income because it will make a difference but not exactly a huge necessity.

I know its usually slower im summer but that also doesnt mean im willing to take orders thats not within my "rules"

When I used to do UE more regularly I wouldnt taken orders if they were:

  • bad areas
  • far away or in a nearby city im not too familiar with
  • big apartment complexes

But since I kinda need the money more im afraid im going have to take some offers I hate doing.

If you needed the money but not desperately would you break your rules during slow periods?

Hi all, a dozen if us were laid off and I was excited to hear that I'd be receiving several months severance. Until I remembered that taxes would be taken out. I dont know if anything else would be taken out.

My normal paychecks with them about 37% was taken out for taxes, 401k, insurances, etc.

I hear that because its lump some alot will be taken out. Can anyone give me examples of what happened with yours? What they offered vs what you got after taxes.

I need to budget and plan ahead and dont want to assume im actually getting more

As the title says I was laid off this wrrk and all of us will be receiving a severance within the next 2 weeks if not sooner.

I've never had a severance before and I know the gross amount it will but do companies give you the gross amount or what it would be after taxes and normal deductions. Its gonna be lump some.

When I worked they had pre tax deductions like 401K and post deductions like insurance, taxes etc.

Will they still take out those things?

So i was laid off this week but a job called me for an interview already. Its job within 20 minutes from me. Similar to what I used to do but different industry. Problem it pays way less.

Within unemployment and savings I hqve enough to last 6 to 8 months. The advantage of taking this job if offered is its more than what unemployment pays but it isnt enough of a salary to cover most of my bills so if I took this job it would only be temporary.

The problem is if I start getting interview requests if hired dor this new place how would it be possible? I cant keep taking time off to attend interviews if get laid off quickly.

But while I have savings any extra money will help prolong it.

This is my first semester at csu global.

I have excess funds due to me. It says disbursement was on Wed the 18th and they paid my balance with financial aid and showed a negative balance. Now its positive balance for same amount. Im not sure why.

Nothing has been sent to Bank Mobile. We can we expect it to be sent?

Hi all, got laid off this week ago. Getting a little severance and my final check which was one weeks worth.

I live in a HCOL and have been actively paying down debt because we all know layoffs were coming. So I have no savings. Ill probably also get the max with unemployment benefits.

Everything im getting could last maybe 5 to 7 months on average. So finding another job they pays almost as much is important.

Right now it doesnt seem like jobs are paying as well right now from what ive seem so ive even applied to lower paying ones.

One job called me the next day and love my resume and want to interview me next week. Problem is it pays wayyyyy less than what I make now. So thag scare

A bunch of us were laid off because certain teams revenue was slow and not enough work to do. Out of our control because we weren't allowed to help with getting new clients.

When they announced to everyone they were laying off including me that we were going to be laid off, I was sad and disappointed but not surprised. I wasn't shocked either and just took the rest of the day off, ran errands and was lazy overall.

Yet, here we are 24 hours later and I was more stressed than yesterday:

- Had roof leak few weeks ago that's been repaired but landlord trying to schedule ceiling painting for where the leak is, want us to move furniture etc. It's big furniture I can't move really and I

So long story short was laid off this week.

Prior to this they laid off people around the holidays so we all knew we were next.

I only had a couple thousand in savings (long story) and used that and any money left over bills to pay down debt. It hasn't been enough to pay anything off but less than what I used to owe. Downside is I have no savings.

Company is giving me a decent severance and ill get the max unemployment (which 6 months max they allow)

I live in a HCOL so things are expensive. With the 6 months of unemployment + severance if i just pay the minumum payment for bills. The money combined should last maybe around 7 to 8 months.

Im applying to any and everything because

I got laid off today. I am not prepared as I have no savings. Mostly because when they started laying off people first round last year I spent past 6 months paying down as much as possible.

At the time when coworkers were laid off last year I was drowning in debt (long story - not my fault)

At the layoffs last year we also went remote i decided to sell my car that and a couple of changes I was able to get out of the red and get debt under control. I was still living paycheck to paycheck but it was under control.

When they laid off people last fall i decided to take what little savings plus any money left over since then and paid down my debts.

Nothing has been paid off so far but i
