Persistent Knee Pain Above Kneecap When Squatting/Lunging – Need Advice
Hi everyone, I’m a 22F beginner lifter. I’ve been consistently training since March and recently started getting an aching pain above my kneecap—kind of a dull pinch when coming up from squats, lunges, etc. It’s not sharp, but it’s noticeable and hasn’t gone away.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far: • Took a week off → no real improvement • Tried compression sleeves → no change • Dropped leg day intensity significantly for the past week → still persists • Now it’s also affecting my lower back, I think because my leg strength isn’t fully there anymore
I do have pigeon toe (my feet naturally turn inward when I walk), which I wonder might be affecting my form or joint alignment.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have suggestions for stretches, strengthening, or what kind of specialist to see? I just want to continue getting stronger without hurting myself.
