Complaint refused by POSTRS - what now?

General Question

Not here for a moan, but genuinely seeking advice from within RM to see if there’s anything that can be done to make this situation better.

Starting in Spring last year I’ve had 11 parcels delivered to me that were either thrown over my 7ft fence, left on the doorstep in full view of the street or left in my bin. I have no ‘safe space’ registered & if I’m not in simply want the parcel taken back to the depot so I can pick it up another day.

Every time it’s happened I’ve complained through the RM system, when it kept happening I escalated the complaints & finally took it to the Postal Review Service (twice). Each time they’ve treated each incident as totally isolated rather than a continuous pattern of behaviour, then tell me it won’t happen again and then it does.

I finally got so sick of it I went to POSTRS but as soon as I submitted a complaint to them the RM said it wasn’t in scope as the parcels mis delivered were sent using a business contractual account which aren’t on of the services POSTRS can investigate. So the complaint has now been closed & it’s the end of the road.

I’m struggling to see how I resolve this and stop parcels being thrown over my fence, left on the doorstep or left in bins if RM are going to pay lip service to my complaints safe in the knowledge that POSTRS won’t touch them.

I’ve put up with my kids electric Christmas presents being thrown over my fence & even a parcel left in the rain outside for a week as I was on holiday when it was chucked over.

Would a letter to my local depot manager make any difference? The problem isn’t with the lads who deliver mail on foot, it’s the ones that seem to change every week who wizz around in the vans that are causing the issues.

Many thanks for any constructive advice. I appreciate that there are probably time constraints on the parcel delivery team (which seems very unfair) but I don’t want special treatment, just to know that if i’n out then my parcel will be kept till I can collect it.
