Winter heating

Hi! We’re in the process of moving to Fukuoka and currently searching for a comfortable apartment—ideally at least a 2LDK, though we’d consider a really great 1LDK as well. Our visas are being approved, and we’re hopeful that we’ll be able to sign a long-term contract soon.

One concern we have is winter. We spent some time in Kyoto during the colder months and honestly found it unbearably freezing at times. I’m originally from a cold country, but our homes there are really well insulated, so I’ve never experienced that kind of indoor chill before.

Do you think it’s necessary to prioritize apartments with floor heating in Fukuoka? Or is it possible to get through winter comfortably with just an air conditioner, for full comfort not only surviving (we usually prefer 21C inside at least).
