Looking for deck recommendations

We have a 12x14 wood deck over a walkout basement. We would like to remove the wooden decking and railing and replace with composite decking. The stairs also need some repair or rebuilding.

We went with a local deck contractor who quoted upwards of 35k. That seems..... insane... to me considering the were going to use the original base structure (6x6 posts, joists, etc are all structurally sound and we're to be utilized with the quote). If seems we could have a new deck built from scratch for less.

Perhaps this is the FU price for a smaller job?

Anyone have recommendations for reasonable deck contractors, companies, or just someone with enough contracting or building experience to take this on?

I feel i could handle the demo and decking, but the stairs and railing are a bit intimidating.
