Does anyone know how to fix lipstick that won't go back in the tube?

I'm sure other people have had this issue before. I know I have. I have a Clinique Black Honey that has stopped retracting back into the tube when I twist it, and I'm wondering if there's a fix I don't know about. I have to gently press on it with my lip while retracting to get it to go back down.

It's kind of a pain and I'm worried about smashing the lipstick. Thanks for any help!

If you can't get it in completely, I'd just pull a Lisa Eldridge and put your lipstick in a lip palette & put it on using a brush. Unless you want it to be easily transportable.. then I'd try taking it back for sure!

Yeah I may have to palette it, leave that one at home, and get a new one to carry with me.

I can't take it back, unfortunately. I purchased it years and years ago from a store that isn't here anymore.

could you just return it due to manufacturing error?

Most likely not. I purchased it a very long time ago in a department store that is no longer here.
