Still positive for Chlamydia after almost 2.5 months

✴️First positive results: May 1 ✴️Partner and I started 1 gram azithromycin and abstained from sex for 7 days after treatment. ✴️Second positive results: May 20 ✴️Third positive: June 2 ✴️Fourth positive: July 8

I had no symptoms at all until I started the azithromycin, then I had yeast infection symptoms.

Partner tested negative twice.

My provider wants me to wait 3 months from first positive result before starting doxycycline.

I still have no noticeable symptoms.

❓Is it normal to still be showing positive after this long? ❓And is it a bad idea to wait that long before starting the doxycycline?
