My cat is very easy going, and takes to training very well, until another animal shows up.

Behavioral Issue

i have a cat, it's extremely gentle around humans, extra gentle around babies. doesn't play rough and is very easy to handle. he's also quite big for a housecat, about 14lbs, and not obese in the slightest.

however, he hates literally every other animal. as in he wants them dead, not like he's afraid, he doesn't care about their size etc, straight to battle. other cats, dogs, birds, humans in costumes. dont matter. he will attack them like he's possessed.

Thing is we have dogs and he grew up around other cats. he is totally fine with our dogs, but he hates other cats, and especially birds, like he doesn't hunt them, he slaughters them. it's insane same with cats, he won't try to chase them off or any typical cat thing, he tries to kill them. and when he gets going it's extremely hard to keep him restrained(however he's never once scratched or bit me while in his murderous rage). then as soon as they're gone his personality suddenly switches like none of this ever happened, it's weird.

We had to keep him inside until we moved, now we have tons of land and space but the issue still persists, it's extremely hard to do proper socializing/training on this front, because he will be super calm, show no signs of aggression, be super compliant, that is until you bring another animal within eyeshot then he just loses his mind... though now that we live in the country side i find less of a reason to keep working to change this super odd behavior, cause predators and we have few neighbors, even then they're quite far away.

Another super odd thing is he hasnt attacked our geese, but would chase the sheep. i really don't know what to make of this cat.
