Update: I'm scared--I got a positive Metrix test for the first time. How do I go about getting Paxlovid, setting up work things, etc?

This is an update to my (30f) prior post (https://www.reddit.com/r/ZeroCovidCommunity/comments/1lt9y26/im\_scaredi\_got\_a\_positive\_metrix\_test\_for\_the/). In the meantime, I've had six doses of Paxlovid, tested negative on Flowflex and Metrix just about an hour ago, and my partner (38m) just tested negative on the Metrix. After several brought up the likelihood of a false positive, I have several questions:

  1. Assuming a true infection, how quickly would Paxlovid drop your viral load to the level you'd test negative in both Metrix and Flowflex?

  2. Assuming a true infection, this would mean I am (currently--I've read about rebound) not contagious, correct? While I would still rest, while masked could I still comfort my animals and be around my partner? I'm fine avoiding it if it's not a smart idea, but I'm the only one who can squirt the cat's allergy medication down his throat. He won't suffer any unfortunate effects from missed doses, he'll just be sneezier and snottier.

  3. What would a good return to activity regimen be? Unless I have rebound, I have to return to work next Monday, and the drive is not great (stresswise). That's followed by a ten minute walk to/from the parking garage, and about 5-6k steps of doing things around the lab minimum.

  4. What would a good return to exercise regimen be? I have to be able to truthfully tell my doctors I exercise for them to believe me when I have any health problems, but I know exercise is awful for a long period after a COVID infection.

  5. Should I trust these negative tests? Was it actually a false positive? Am I actually in the clear and I can at least enjoy the rest of the five days of PTO I managed to wrangle during an important week at work? Can I work out this week and not risk any damage? Am I not a danger to my family any more?

I appreciate everyone's help and support during this time. The people in this group help me feel a little less alone and a little less 'insane.'

Edit: The CVS PCR was negative for COVID, flu a, and flu b! This was after a negative Flowflex the day of the positive Metrix on Sunday, and the negative Flowflex and Metrix Wednesday (yesterday). Does this mean I had a false positive Metrix I should report to the company?

Edit 2: The Metrix I took a few hours after the PCR was also negative, I'm definitely reporting this to the company.

Edit 3: Okay, so checking my portal for a credit card charge I was anticpating I got the details on the test saying it was a "RX QUIDEL SARS-COV-2 ANTIGEN, FIA RESULT." It didn't explicitly say PCR when I scheduled it. I tested negative on the Metrix. Should I go and drop the money on a LabCorp PCR (explitly labeled as such)? This is what I get for trusting a search that basically was 'PCR near me.'
