BMW RT vs Goldwing

I'm about to buy probably my last bike and I'm looking at one of these. I'm easing into retirement and plan to do a lot more traveling. My current trips, when i can fit them in, are about 10-14 days at a stretch. I live in Texas but have been doing my vacation riding mostly in Spain, but as my work winds down I want to pick up my pace of week-ish long trips around the US. I will be riding primarily by myself.

The RT looks like fun, but I'm concerned about maintenance and operating etc costs.

The GW seems like the big boy on the block, and the 8 year warranty can't be beat, but not sure if I'm quite that retired yet.

I've ridden mostly in the Colorado and Arkansas areas, but want to get to the East Coast. I'll always have a big first day (or two) just getting out of Texas, which leans towards the Wing, but there's plenty of mountains in this country and I enjoy those too, which pushes me towards the RT.

I've put 50k on a Valkyrie and probably 10k on midsize BMWs, but none specifically on either bike I'm looking at.

Anyone with an opinion, suggestion, more factors to consider, (another bike to consider?), or just want to throw something out I'm open.
