Prescribed both azithromycin and doxycycline

I tested for chlamydia and I’ve been prescribed both of these antibiotics. Azithromycin 1g on day 1 and 500mg for 3 days, doxycycline 2 doses of 500mg for 7 days. From what I’ve read online this is uncommon and I don’t know why doctor has done this.
