Help with watery eyes

Eye Issues

First of all, yes I know: vet. I already have an appointment, I mostly just want to know what I can do to alleviate symptoms in the meantime. I adopted my cat "S" a couple weeks ago, and since then she's had watery eyes. Not constantly but she'll randomly pop up with big tears in her eyes. Sneezing is few and far between, and there's no redness, excessive/colorful discharge, or swelling. I'm thinking (hoping?) it's just allergies or she's getting into something, although I can't think of anything I might have that would bother her like that. She can fit into all the tiny nooks and crannies so maybe she's just hanging out somewhere super dusty. I have another cat "L" who isn't having/has never had issues like this, but she is much bigger and can't fit under or behind things. I've just been gently wiping S's eyes with a warm compress when it happens. Should I keep doing that? Is it worth it to get some eye wash pads or should I avoid anything other than water until she sees the vet? Thanks in advance!
