Carl's literal Chekhov's Gun

I got to thinking about Carl getting the gun and holster. He says that its just an ordinary gun and his magical gear and weapons is more powerful than it and he'd never use it. But I got to thinking that its going to be important and that Carl can make it stronger just by putting the bullets on the sappers table. The sapper table makes explosions stronger. And bullets are basically shaped charges. Mark my words I think the gun is coming back, its gonna end up being superpowerful and its gonna have a terrible impact.
