Modem recovery text and emails shortly after getting new modem

So I started getting text message shortly after upgrading my service and swapping out my previous purchased modem for the xfinity modem. I also received an email thinking it was from Comcast but after I see it was for completerecovery. The company seems to be a real company used by Comcast as i see people talking about them going back as far as 11 years ago on reddit. This is pretty frustrating as it seems that its just a toss it over the fence service for Comcast. They had my account info and the date of getting a new modem was accurate.
