what is a good budget for hotels

Hi! I am thinking about visit Shanghai for the first time with my husband and I was wondering what is a good budget per night for a hotel. I was thinking about 100 usd or a little more or should I increase it? I am not looking for a four seasons but also don't want to stay in hostels, just a nice and clean hotel that is in a walkable area
