For those of you who do not get fish mounts, how do you memorialize your fish? And what are your thoughts/recommendations on an art wall?
I went a fishing trip recently and caught a lot of exotic fish (at least relative to the US) - roosters, mackerel, jack, nurse shark, snapper, pampano. I dont really want a 5 foot fiberglass shark hanging anywhere in my apartment nor do i want to pay to get it done, and unless I get rich I dont see myself having a room big enough to just showoff a bunch of mounted fish without it being an eyesore.
I was thinking of commissioning art work - something like 8x8s in a simple, thin wood frame on white paper/canvas to be hung on one wall in a grid) for all of the different types of fish that I catch, so that I can represent my whole fishing journey, from bass to trout to sharks but I dont really have an eye for design. What size do you think I should go with? Framing options? Anything else I should consider for the longevity of this project? Or any other ideas you have on how I could show off all the fish I catch in my life?
