Which season would you guys say was the first "modern" season?

A year ago I made a post around here asking which season could we say is the last old-school season, and I had a lot of good answers. I think this question definitely deserves its own thread as well because it all comes down to what you consider a constant of the modern state of the show that was just never present in older season, however that is being defined.

I usually see Cagayan or Cambodia as the answer to this, but personally, I think Cook Islands has a good argument for being considered the first modern season if not solely for introducing the final 3. No season with a final 3 can ever be old-school imo because it just fundamentally changes how players navigate through the game. So even though Panama has other weird shit going on for it's era like Exile Island and continuing with the Hidden Immunity Idol (which many thought would just be a one time Guatemala thing), I still think it falls just short of being modern for having a final 2. Also Cook Island was just far more twist heavy than prior seasons and the strategy seemed more presented here than before.
