Returning the T-Rex 3 Pro . Same issues as ever

Device Support ⌚️

Hello,

I have had many Amazfit watches, but also many Garmin, Suunto and one Coros. I had big expectations for the T-Rex 3 Pro but I cannot justify the price of this watch when (in my honest opinion), the watch has some very important issues.

Here is a photo of my T-Rex 3 Pro at the very first power on and my Garmin Epix Pro Gen 2 51mm:

I did a GPS test on forest on a trail run. The GPS of both units was spot on. So the GPS is working perfectly. But there are some issues I did not expect.

- The screen is incredible dirty. I returned the Balance 2 for just that issue. The watch came without oleophobic treatment. It is better here, mainly for the extra buttons, but the watch ended very dirty after the trail run. I expected this issue to be fixed, but it is not.

- The Heart rate sensor is buggy. I'm having (again) the same bugs the T-Rex 2 had. When in a trail run and specially when going down, the heart rate sensor sometimes measures totally rare an very high ppm. I compared this with my Epix Pro, a watch that is not only a lot more reactive with the changes and the sensor and that is does not have those weird things. Have a look at the following capture of the TR3P:

There are some moments when going down when the watch gets stuck on false and very high BPM and then it recovers the normal values.

And I know that because I was comparing that with my Garmin, because going down I was somehow relaxed and because there's a moment that the watch does recover the BPMs with a radical change in the meassurements.

BTW, it's not only me. This issue was in the past and it seems introduced again. This issue is also explained in this review. Please, Amazfit, check it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv3numV-cjU

- The battery life is not good when compared to the T-Rex 3 (non Pro). ? I understand the screen now is more nits, but at the cost of the fingerprints and worse battery life??? Why Amazfit?? This should be really the Pro version.

- The swimming issues I detailed here are still there: https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1lnrpqx/swimming_issues_and_bugs_bad_experience_with/ .

https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1lkvu1q/structured_workouts_are_missing_in_swimming/ I talked about these things to Amazfit for the TR2, Balance 1 and 2, and TR3. Nobody cares. More than 2 years of logs and feedack. Swimmers and triathletes DO NOT buy this watch if swimming is important for you. Be aware of this

- Speed and cadence sensors are not working in indoor cycling mode. Again, more than 2 years of logs and feedback for this and nothing. Here are my comments:

https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1ff6kll/amazfit_t_rex_3_zero_speedcadencestride_bug/ but I uploaded logs for every watch. Nothing. So, again, bikers and triathletes be aware of this.

- The autorouting is not working. It hangs a lot. I understand this will be fixed.

Extra things:

- Colors missing in the climb screen: https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1lldboy/colors_missing_in_the_climb_screen_while_routing/

- Rucking activity missing:

https://www.reddit.com/r/amazfit/comments/1lkvs4a/rucking_activity_missing/

- Where is Golf? I don't care about this, but this is your most expensive watch.

The thing is I cannot justify the 400 euro increase with so many issues and important bugs. Really, Amazfit. You need to put more effort in the software if you want us to pay that quantity for an Amazfit watch. But then, here, you put a screen that gets dirty (and again, like in the Balance 2).

Things for the next iteration of the T-Rex:

- Fix everything, put an anti-fingerprint screen and I'll be there again. Just that.

- eSim, now Garmin and Apple are putting it. They also are supporting satellite but well, I understand we are not there yet.

u/Amazfit-Bryce could you send this to the support too?

Thanks
